We all are familiar with the agreement of Toyota and Suzuki on sharing each other's products. The first outcome of this venture was the Toyota Glanza which was a Maruti Baleno with a Toyota badge and other add-ons. After an year, we are now going to see another rebadged Suzuki product and this will be called "Urban Cruiser". Toyota Urban Cruiser has been teased officially and will be the smallest SUV from Toyota in India. The launch is scheduled for this festive season and bookings to start in late August.
The teased image of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, although doesn't offer much deets about the car, confirms that this is going to be a rebadged Vitara Brezza. The front will sport the Toyota grille with two chrome slats. The front profile will be more or less similar to the Brezza but only the grille will be changed. The lower part of the bumper will get fog lights and skid plate.

The teaser image also reveals the alloy wheels which are identical to that of the Vitara Brezza. The side profile will be similar to the Brezza - sporting machine-cut alloy wheels, roof rails and body cladding. The rear profile of the Toyota Urban Cruiser will be similar too, having LED taillights and sporty bumper with skid plate.
The interiors of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, again, will be identical to that of the Vitara Brezza. But we can expect lighter shade interiors with the dual-tone dashboard. The space on the inside will be exactly identical to the Vitara Brezza and the dimensions are expected to remain the same too. The engine will be the same 1.5-litre petrol engine which will produce 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque. The engine will come paired with either 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota can rejig the variants of the Urban Cruiser by offering the smart hybrid tech with manual variants as well.

We expect Toyota to use the same technique they used with the Glanza. We expect Toyota to price the Urban Cruiser lower than the Brezza and offer better and longer warranty to lure the buyers. The icing on the cake being Toyota's popular after-sales support and impeccable brand value. The bookings will kick start in August and the Urban Cruiser will hit showrooms this festive season.
