Toyota has discontinued the Corolla Altis and the entire Etios range recently when the new BS6 emission norms came into place. And needless to say, both these cars were the top picks when it came to the cab aggregators. Now to fill this empty hole, Toyota has decided that it would bring a fleet version of the Yaris C segment sedan for the tour and travel industry. The same is expected to be priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

This fleet version of Toyota Yaris will be priced lower than the current base trim that comes at a price of Rs 8.76 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. And the carmaker will also delete some of the features which will eventually help in making it more affordable.
The current base variant that is J(O) comes with features like projector headlights, shark fin antenna, cooled glove box, driver seat height adjust, all four power windows, tilt steering, three airbags and among others. This variant also comes with 15-inch alloy wheels.
Toyota might strip down above listed features to keep the fleet version of Yaris an affordable choice. This variant will come with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine which churns out 107 bhp with a peak torque of 140 Nm. The ARAI certified mileage sticks to 17.1 km/l.

We expect that to cater to the needs of cab aggregators, Toyota will bring in a more affordable CNG trim for some cities. It will bring down the running costs thus making it an efficient choice among fleet operators. Current fleet or commercial sedan options in the Indian market include the Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour and the Hyundai Xcent Prime. The Yaris will offer a far more premium experience than these two models.
The Yaris has been sold with a sole petrol engine only ever since it's launch and the no-availability of an oil burner affected its sales to an extent. This sedan competes with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid.
