Hyundai Alcazar is the most awaited 7-seater SUV which is expected to launch in May this year and the bookings for the same has already started. Dealers across the country have started to accept the unofficial bookings for the Alcazar that rivals the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
Hyundai Alcazar shares the same platform as the Creta, however, the company claims it is much different from the 5-seater SUV. At first, the longer wheelbase of 2760 mm and the 180 litres of booth space. Both are highest in the segment thus giving an edge to the Alcazar.
At the front, it carries a fresh new grille design which alters itself from the Creta and the side profile gets a new alloy wheels design. Similarly, the wraparound taillights offer a better look along with faux skid plates at the front and rear.

Hyundai Alcazar will power two engine options - a 2.0L petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit generates 159 PS with a peak torque of 191 Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel produces 115 PS with 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines get a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed torque converter as an option. One also gets three driving modes - City, Eco and Sport.
Feature-wise, Alcazar borrows the list from the Creta itself with the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One also gets wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and others.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mount child seats, ESP, high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors, keyless entry and rear disc brakes.

As far as the price expectations go then we are guessing it to be priced between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 19 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Had the lockdown not imposed and with the cases not rising at a rapid pace you could have experienced the Alcazar at the showroom near you.
