In the last few months, there have been several launches of mass-market cars in India that are equipped with ADAS tech. Some of these cars are Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Innova Hycross, MG Hector, Tata Safari, Tata Harrier, etc. Moreover, there are also some upcoming facelifts that are expected to come equipped with ADAS tech. In this article, we will go through 4 such vehicles that are set to get advanced ADAS tech with their upcoming facelifts.
The Upcoming Hyundai Creta Facelift To Get ADAS Tech
The upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift is expected to come equipped with radar-based level-2 ADAS tech. Hyundai Creta competitors like Tata Harrier, MG Astor, & MG Hector already offer ADAS tech. Also, the upcoming Kia Seltos facelift is likely to offer level-2 ADAS tech. Thus, to stay up-to-date & competitive in the segment, Hyundai will offer the ADAS tech in the upcoming Creta facelift. The level-2 ADAS in the facelifted Creta could offer features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, rear blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, auto high beam assist, etc.
The Upcoming Kia Seltos Facelift To Get ADAS Tech
The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift is also expected to be equipped with radar-based level-2 ADAS tech. Many Kia Seltos competitors like Tata Harrier, MG Astor, & MG Hector already offer ADAS tech. Also, the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift is likely to offer level-2 ADAS tech like the one in the new Hyundai Verna sedan. Thus to stay up-to-date with the trend & competition, Kia will offer the ADAS tech in the upcoming Seltos facelift. The level-2 ADAS in the facelifted Seltos could offer features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, etc.
Kia Carens Facelift: 1st Sub-20 Lakh MPV With ADAS
According to several media reports, Kia is all set to disrupt the sub-20 lakh MPV segment by introducing the ADAS tech in the upcoming Carens facelift. When it comes to ADAS hardware & features, we expect Kia to offer at least a camera + radar based level-2 ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, auto high beam assist, etc. However, just like the much more expensive EV6, Kia could also go with a 3 radar setup instead of just one in the upcoming Carens facelift. With ADAS tech, Carens will become the first and only sub-20 lakh MPV in India to come equipped with ADAS tech.
Tata Nexon Facelift: Likely The 1st ADAS Equipped Compact SUV
The recently launched 2023 Safari & Harrier have become the first Tata models to get the ADAS features. The radar + camera-based ADAS system in 2023 Safari & Harrier is said to be developed in-house by Tata Motors. If not all the ADAS features from the 2023 Safari & Harrier, we expect Tata to offer at least some of the ADAS features like front collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane departure warning, and auto high beam assist in the upcoming Nexon facelift. This will make the Tata Nexon the first & only compact SUV in India to offer ADAS tech.

Verdict: All 4 cars mentioned in the above list are facelifts of their current generation models and are not new models. Still, the addition of ADAS in these cars will make this advanced technology more affordable, accessible, and mass-market. Thus making these cars much safer on the roads.
