Volkswagen Connected Car Tech Launched For Polo and Vento - All Details

The connected car technology is getting really very popular in India in recent times. The first mass-market car to get a whole bunch of connected car features in the Indian market was the Hyundai Venue (launched in May 2019). It was followed by the MG Hector, Kia Seltos and more. Now, it's 2020 and in this modern era, everyone wants to have connected car tech in their car. So, Volkswagen India has launched the 'My Volkswagen Connect' app which is a connected car tech for the new Polo and the Vento BS6.

Like some other automakers, Volkswagen India has also launched a new dedicated application called 'My Volkswagen Connect' for connected car tech features in its cars. Currently, only the top-spec Polo GT TSI and the Vento TSI Highline Plus will be compatible with this new app as standard. This application will be available for both Android as well as iOS users. One can download this application from Google Play Store or Apple's App Store. Other VW cars like the T-Roc and the Tiguan AllSpace might get this feature at a later point of time, but it has not been officially confirmed yet.

The new My Volkswagen Connect app provides access to a whole bunch of features which include vehicle telematics, geofencing, remote tracking and more. This sim-based application provides several features such as real-time location, towing alert, geo-fencing, route deviation alert, SOS call, etc. The My VW Connect app basically uses a dongle that is plugged in the car's on-board diagnostics (OBD) port that displays information on the mobile app. The VW owners can also examine their driving style, check the data related to quantifying speed, acceleration and RPM, braking behaviour, distance travelled, coolant temperature, and many more details.
