Keeping up with the tradition of introducing GT Lines, Volkswagen Taigun now gets 2 new variants namely GT Line and the GT Plus Sport. These variants bring cosmetic changes inside and out along with turbo petrol engine options for enthusiasts. Volkswagen Taigun GT Line, GT Plus Sport Variants Revealed
The newly revealed variants offer a renewed appeal to the Volkswagen Taigun, both with the exterior and the interior. The GT Plus Sport variant gets exclusive black colored roof rails, black colored b-pillars, dark chrome outside door garnish, gloss black finished front grille, 17-inch Casino black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, GT badge on the grille, gloss black ORVMs and Carbon Steel color roof.
Coming inside the cabin, you get GT-specific enhancements. The dashboard of the GT Plus Sport variant now gets a glossy black finish, a black leather steering wheel with red stitch inserts, dark upholstery with red stitch lining, metal pedals, black door handles, and other elements are also now finished in black for a more sporty touch. The GT Line variant gets distinctions with grey stitching instead of the red inside the cabin. You also get red ambient lighting inside with both the GT variants.
Powertrain Details
Mechanically, Volkswagen offers 2 turbocharged petrol mills with the latest Taigun GT variants. You have the option for a 1.0-liter TSI with 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission and a 1.5-liter TSI with 7-speed DSG and 6-speed manual gearbox options. The GT Plus Sport variant comes with the 1.5 litre petrol engine that puts out 150Ps with a peak torque of 250 Nm while the GT Line trim is offered with the 1.0-litre petrol mill churning out 115PS power with 178Nm of torque.
Verdict
The introduction of these new variants Volkswagen aims to re-ignite the hype around its compact SUV. While Taigun already performs good for the brand, the new GT Line variants aim to attract more driving enthuisats towards itself, especialy after the launch of Hyundai Creta N-Line. However, this is just an unveil at this point and is expected to launch soon.
