German car manufacturer Volkswagen is currently working to increase the overall market share in the country under the India 2.0 strategy. The manufacturer showcased a range of vehicles at the 2020 Auto Expo and the manufacturer will rely heavily on the SUVs to gain more market share in India in the coming times. Volkswagen will start by launching two all-new SUVs in the Indian market, Tiguan AllSpace on 6th March and T-Roc on 18th March.
The all-new Tiguan AllSpace will become the flagship and most expensive SUV from the brand. It is the 7-seater version of the Tiguan that will be similar to the Skoda Kodiaq. It will take on the likes of Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
The Tiguan AllSpace will only get powered by a petrol engine option. It will get a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces a maximum power of 187 Bhp. The engine gets mated by a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and there will no manual transmission on offer. The Tiguan AllSpace looks very similar to the regular version of the Tiguan apart from the length. The Tiguan AllSpace is slightly longer than the regular Tiguan.
Volkswagen will launch their entry-level SUV, the T-Roc in the Indian market on 18th March. The all-new SUV will take on the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. It will be a Completely Built Unit and will be a niche product.
The T-Roc will come powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 148 Bhp and peak torque of 240 Nm. It will be offered only with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission option. The T-Roc will be available only in a single variant and it will come fully loaded with features.
There is a long list of features including a panoramic sunroof and fully digital instrument cluster. Also, a range of safety features will be available with the car including park distance control, rear parking camera, 6 airbags, ESC, and many more. It will come with a premium price tag.
