VW Taigun is one of the most powerful mid-size SUVs in the country right now. Just recently, the German carmaker brought in an Anniversary Edition of the Taigun to mark its one-year presence in the Indian market. This was all cosmetic and available in three colour options - Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow and the new, Rising Blue. Now, according to this new video on the internet, Taigun has been spotted in a Matte Black shade.
As of now, there is no information as to what these test mules could offer. Maybe it is a new shade that is yet to be introduced in the Indian market with features exclusive to this colour only. Just like what Kia did with Seltos X Line or Skoda with Monte Carlo Edition of Kushaq. Another theory could be the introduction of AWD mode.
VW Taigun gets two engine options under the hood - 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI. The former is the most popular and this three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generates 114 bhp of power with a peak torque of 178 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed stick shift as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.

The other, 1.5L TSI motor is the most powerful in the segment. This four-cylinder, turbocharged motor pumps out a peak power and torque of 148 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively. It gets mated to a 7-speed DSG only. The ARAI-certified mileage of the same sticks to 17.8 kmpl.
Feature-wise, Taigun gets a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, front ventilated cooled seats, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, cruise control, push start/stop button, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and more.
