In the most recent Global NCAP crash test results, VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia received 5-star ratings. According to the revised GNCAP test requirements, the cars scored a perfect five stars for both adult and kid safety. The accomplishment comes shortly after the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun became the first SUVs built in India to gain a similar 5-star safety rating in October 2022. The VW Virtus and Slavia are made in India, for India and the world, with the Group's INDIA 2.0 project concentrating on building automobiles in India that adhere to European quality standards and serve both the domestic and international markets.

VW Virtus & Skoda Slavia GNCAP Test
In the GNCAP crash test the Virtus & Slavia has been tested according to the new safety standards and gained 29.71 points out of 34 in adult occupant safety and 42 out of 49 points in child occupants safety. Both the cars are made on the VW-Skoda group's MQB-A0-IN platform.
In order to assess the frontal and side impact protection of all tested models, Global NCAP changed its crash test procedures. Assessments for pedestrian safety, side impact pole protection, and electronic stability control (ESC) are also necessary for vehicles with the highest star ratings. Both the VW Virtus and the Skoda Slavia demonstrated a robust structure in the frontal impact and offered adequate to excellent protection for adult occupants, with marginal to excellent protection in the side impact scenarios, in accordance with their most basic safety specifications, which included ESC as standard. Moreover, child occupants were completely protected against frontal and side impacts, demonstrating the high safety standards upheld by Global NCAP.

VW Virtus & Skoda Slavia Safety Features
Several active and passive safety elements are included in the Virtus and Skoda Slavia, both of which are manufactured in India. These include child locks, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, overspeed warning, speed-sensing door locks, park distance control (rear), up to 6-airbags, rear view cameras, multi-collision brakes, brake disc wiping, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rain and light sensors, hill-hold assist, and seat belt warning. In addition to the impact-absorbing body parts and side impact protection beams in the doors, the cars also have Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Control, and Electronic Differential Lock System.
Verdict: The Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus are now more competitive in their segment based on the new crash test ratings. The Slavia and Virtus both have the same engine and feature set but are priced differently. The new crash test results of the vehicles will bring in more customers for Virtus & Slavia.
