Yamaha FZ-S is a very popular premium sporty commuter in the Indian market. The FZ-S is currently in its third-generation avatar and so it is called the FZ-S V3. The FZ-S V3 is indeed a great motorcycle but when compared to its rivals, it lacked some fancy equipment and the company has fulfilled that today. Yamaha has just launched the new FZ-S BS6 with Bluetooth Connectivity in India. The price of the new FZ-S BS6 Dark Knight Edition with Bluetooth Connectivity is Rs. 1.07 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
Yamaha has currently introduced this feature only in the Dark Knight edition of FZS-FI BS6. However, the company has announced that the Bluetooth connectivity can be installed as an add-on accessory in all the other models of 150cc FZ and FZ-S series. Talking about its features, this new Yamaha's Motorcycle Connect X application offers a total of six main features. They are - Answer Back, E-Lock, Locate My Bike, Hazard, Riding History and Parking Record. The company says that the application has been designed in such a way that it enables the rider to connect to the bike by a 'Single touch' on the mobile. The features are explained below:
- Answer Back - Upon engaging this feature, the bike indicators start blinking and the horn starts beeping.
- E-Lock - One can lock their bike and prevent theft using the E-lock feature.
- Locate my Bike - Upon clicking this feature, the bike indicators will illuminate for 10 seconds continuously.
- Hazard - This feature allows to alert and throw caution when the bike is in distress. All four indicators will start blinking continuously.
- Riding History - One can view individual trip details of every ride.
- Parking Record - It shows a route map from your current location to where you have parked your bike.
All in all, the new Yamaha Connect X application seems very useful. It also shows individual trip details in the application like distance, average speed, brake count, battery voltage etc. The introduction of this new technology comes under the brand's 'The Call of the Blue' campaign and riders just need to download the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application from Google Play Store or iOS App Store. Apart from the introduction of this new feature, the FZ-S has not got any other mechanical or cosmetic upgrade.
The new FZ-S V3 is powered by a BS6-compliant 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 12.4 PS of power at 7250 RPM and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new Yamaha FZ-S BS6 Dark Knight with Bluetooth Connectivity has been priced at Rs. 1,07,700. In comparison, the regular Dark Knight model is priced at Rs. 1,05,200 while the other colour variants retail at Rs. 1,03,700. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. Thus, for just 2000-4000 extra, you are getting so many features and it seems a nice deal.
