Toyota India has launched the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx dubbed the Urban Cruiser Taisor. The Urban Cruiser Taisor was launched with a slightly different design and the same engine and features as the Fronx. On the engine front, it comes with 3 powertrain options including a 1.2-litre NA petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.2-litre CNG engine. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Engine Options & Efficiency
Toyota Taisor comes with a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.2-litre petrol+CNG engine.

The claimed fuel economy of the turbo petrol engine is 21.18 kmpl with manual transmission. We haven't tested the Taisor's fuel economy in real-world conditions yet, but we did conduct a fuel economy test for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo Manual version. Using the tank-to-tank method, it delivered approximately 21.13 kmpl. Both Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor come with the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Now, if we talk about the turbo petrol engine with AT gearbox, in our test run with the Fronx it returned us an economy of 14.45 kmpl in city traffic.
Moreover, if we talk about the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine it will give you an economy of nearly about 17-18 kmpl in city conditions and will touch nearly 20 kmpl on highways with the manual transmission. The AMT on the other hand might give you a bit fewer numbers.
The Taisor is one of the most fuel-efficient sub-4 metre crossovers which can give you good mileage if you are a light foot driver. The fact that it boasts the same engines as Fronx and the tuning of the engines are also the same.

Verdict
Toyota and Maruti Suzuki have been collaborating on badge-engineered products for the past few years, and these products have proven to be successful for Toyota in India. The Taisor is the recent addition in Toyota's lineup which is based on a Maruti car. The brand is seeing good reception of these products among Indian customers.
