Maruti's biggest highlight for 2020 is the discontinuation of diesel engines from its line-up. Now, while that might be a piece of low news for diesel lovers, Maruti is surely bringing in new models and facelifts of its ongoing cars so stay put in the market. One such example is the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift.
Now, the 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis facelift was spotted earlier on the Internet but these recent spy shots reveal the hatchback in a full disguised mode. The hatchback looks in its production form and does justice with the image which was leaked earlier.
Talking more about the facelift, it is the front that receives an updated design with the restyled front bumper along with the skid plate. The latter adds a bit of sportiness. The grille up front is also changed and now gets U-shaped design borrowed from the Maruti Brezza. Co-incidentally, Maruti S-Presso also sees a similar grille upfront.

The side profile will be more or less the same and the Ignis will carry over the same alloy wheel design - these will also be seen in the upcoming Futuro-E hatchback. Also, the height of the roof rails looks slightly jacked up. The rear too will see a restyled design to the bumper and tweaked taillights. Like the ongoing Ignis which is available with several customisations from Maruti Suzuki itself, we expect the facelifted model will be with this option too.
We expect the cabin too will see updated styling with new interior colour and seats. Also, the car will be updated with the recent SmartPlay infotainment system which gets connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood, Maruti Suzuki Ignis will continue to use the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor. This motor churns out 83 bhp on tap at 6,000 rpm. The maximum torque sticks to 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Transmission wise, it will get a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The prices too for the same will be increased because of the revised styling and a BS6 engine. The ongoing Ignis starts at a price of Rs 4.82 lakh and the top trim Alpha AT sticks to Rs 7.18 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
