The current-gen Maruti Celerio debuted way back in 2014 and is due for a complete model replacement later this year. Ahead of its official debut, the 2021 Maruti Celerio has already been spied numerous times, albeit with heavy camouflage. The latest of these sightings has been made by our friend Aparajith. It must be noted here that the new model will debut on November 10 and is likely to go on sale immediately thereafter. As with the outgoing version, the new car will go on to rival the likes of Tata Tiago, Datsun GO, Hyundai Santro and even the Maruti WagonR.

2021 Maruti Celerio Exterior & Interior
Even though the carmaker continues to test the new-gen Maruti Celerio with a lot of camouflage, a sighting from the car's ad shoot earlier this year has already revealed its exterior. Compared to the tallboy design of the current model, the new version will have a more curvaceous form factor. In fact, the keen eyes will easily spot the resemblance with the Maruti Swift as well as the S-Presso. The front-end has a rather cutesy facade with a chrome garnish that connects the stretched-back headlamps. The bumper has a lot of plastic cladding and looks somewhat sporty.
The upright A-pillars, as well as the DLO (Daylight-Opening), will remind you of the S-Presso but the rear doors and the C-pillar have hints of the current Swift. The rear-end is, again, like the S-Presso but has a touch more drama through the more stylish taillamps.

Even the interior will be thoroughly revamped and will offer a new dashboard that will feature a SmartPlay Studio infotainment unit that will offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity options. The steering wheel comes from the Maruti Ignis, while the central aircon vents have a vertical orientation. More details of the cabin aren't available at the moment but safely expect the equipment list to feature push-button start and auto climate control.
2021 Maruti Celerio Specifications
Even mechanically, the new Celerio won't be anything like the current model. Underpinning the new car will be the lightweight-yet-rigid HEARTECT platform that will be shared with the Swift as well as the Baleno. Engine options are likely to be shared with the WagonR, which means the new model would go on sale with a 1.0-litre K10C, three-cylinder petrol as well as a 1.2-litre K12M, four-cylinder petrol engine. The smaller engine could even get CNG variants. In the petrol format, the 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre K-Series engines output 67PS and 81PS, respectively.
