The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Celerio looks like a typical family hatchback with a clean minimalistic design language. The upcoming new-generation version of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio will retain its tall-boy silhouette design but will be sportier than the current model. Recently, the new-gen 2021 Celerio was spied undisguised during its official TVC shoot. The spy images reveal that the new-gen Celerio will get a new front fascia with new bumpers, a new design for the grille and new headlamps. It will get new multi-spoke alloy wheels too, but, its rear design will remain more or less the same as before.
Dimensions
The current Maruti Celerio measures 3,695 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width and has a height of 1,560 mm. This family hatchback sits on a wheelbase of 2,425 mm and an unladen ground clearance of 165 mm. Now, the official dimensions of the upcoming new-generation 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio have not been revealed yet. However, the new Celerio has grown in dimensions. It will be longer, wider and taller than its predecessor and will even get a longer wheelbase. It might offer a better ground clearance too.
Specifications
At least some of the mechanicals of the new-generation Maruti Celerio will remain the same as before. So, it will be powered by the same BS6 compliant 998cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. This BS6 motor will churn out 67 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as a 5-speed AMT. It might even get the more powerful 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine in the higher trims that churns out 83 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4200 RPM. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox & an AMT. In terms of features, the new Maruti Celerio will be leaps and bounds better than its predecessor. The new 2021 Celerio will sport a completely new layout for the interior. The cabin of this new family hatchback will be more spacious than before. It will feature a new layout for the dashboard along with a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a new steering wheel, and much more. The new Celerio will be based on Maruti's Heartect platform & will get a lot of safety features including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, etc.
New Maruti Celerio Launch Date, Price and Rivals
The new 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be launched in India very soon. It is expected to be launched by the end of this month. Currently, the Celerio is priced between Rs 4.65 lakhs - Rs 6.00 lakhs and one can expect the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio to be priced between Rs 4.79 lakhs - Rs 6.79 lakhs. All the prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. Upon its launch, the new Celerio will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, etc.
