Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the Yaris sedan in India in May 2018. The Yaris is a good mid-size sedan with Toyota's brand value associated with it. However, the C-segment of the sedans was already very crowded and the Yaris couldn't make a great mark in India. That said, Toyota is now gearing up to rejuvenate the Yaris nameplate as the company will soon launch the Yaris Facelift. It will be introduced in the Philippines on July 25, 2020. Also, ahead of its official unveiling, the new 2021 Toyota Yaris Facelift has been spied in the Philippines. Here are some more details about it.
The new Yaris Facelift will feature cosmetic revision, new feature add-ons but there will be no mechanical changes. The spied pictures are of the base and the mid-spec variants of the Yaris and not the top-spec model. Before we begin, let me tell you that the Yaris is sold with different names in the global markets. For instance, it is known as Toyota Vios in South Asian markets such as the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. It is also known as Yaris Ativ in some other markets such as Thailand, etc. As you can see in the image below, Toyota Motor Philippines has officially teased the new Vios.
Talking about the changes, so the new Yaris Facelift gets a redesigned front fascia. The front bumper has been tweaked and it resembles the Lexus cars and Toyota Camry to a certain extent. It also gets a newly designed grille along with new headlamps and new fog lamp assembly. The higher variants of the car also get subtle chrome inserts to enhance the premium appeal. Moreover, the officially teased image reveals that the top-spec trim will also get new LED headlights along with LED DRLs. The side profile appears to be the same as before but it might get new alloys. At the rear, it will get new taillights. Overall, the car looks sportier than before.

Talking about the powertrain, so the Vios (Yaris) gets a 1.3-litre and a 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Philippines. The former develops 98 PS of power and 123 Nm of torque while the latter churns out 108 PS and 140 Nm. The 'Vios' comes mated to 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and the 1.5-litre motor also gets a 7-step CVT. It is this 1.5-litre petrol engine that does its duty in the India-spec Yaris too with exact same power and torque figures but it comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-step CVT.
The new 2021 Toyota Yaris Facelift has now just been spied in the Philippines. It will make its official debut on 25th July 2020.
