Mahindra has finally unveiled the all-new Scorpio Classic in the Indian market and the SUV will be launched later this month. Bookings for the same can be made across all dealerships in India, however, the official ones will be announced by the manufacturer soon. In this article, we will be sharing the top 5 changes that the all-new Scorpio Classic gets!
Design
The front profile of the Scorpio Classic now gets an all-new bumper set-up with redesigned fog light housing and also gets LED daytime running lights. You also get projector headlights that offer better illumination at night. The faux skid plate surely adds to the sportiness of the SUV. The six-slat grille, functional hood and 'twin-peak' Mahindra logo stand out from the older Scorpio.

Moving towards the side profile then it gets restyled body cladding, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and silver accents on the indicators that are placed on the fender. The rear profile now gets reflectors that were seen in the 2nd-gen Scorpio and overall, it remains mostly the same.
Interior, Features and Seating Layout
The cabin now receives a beige and black colour scheme. It not only gives the passengers an airy feeling but also gives a sense of spaciousness. Feature-wise, it gets a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, automatic climate control and more. The Scorpio Classic will be made available in 7 and 9-seat configurations with the options of captain seats too for the middle-row.
Mechanical Changes
The Scorpio Classic now gets the same engine as found in the Thar. The 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that belts out 129 bhp of power with a peak torque of 300 Nm. This engine gets mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard and sadly, there is no automatic on offer.

Suspension
The front gets a double wishbone with coil spring while the rear suspension is the multi-link coil spring. These were found in the older Scorpio as well but in the Classic version, there are MTV-CL dampers found at both ends which tend to give a superior ride quality and great handling.
Price and Variants
Unlike the Scorpio which was sold in multiple variants, the Scorpio Classic will be made available in just two trims - S and S11. The prices for the same will be announced later this month. We expect it to start from Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
