- Maruti Brezza CNG will be the first CNG compact SUV in the segment
- It will be offered in four variants - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+
- It will also be the first factory-fitted CNG vehicle in India to be offered with a 6-speed AT unit as an option
India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce Brezza CNG in the market. What's interesting is that the CNG-powered Maruti Brezza will be offered in both 5-speed manual as well a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Maruti Brezza is not only the first CNG-powered SUV but also the first CNG SUV to be offered with an automatic transmission as an option.
Under the hood, the Brezza CNG will be powered by the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K15C petrol engine. This is the same motor that is seen in the Ertiga CNG as well. There it produces 87 bhp of power with a peak torque of 121.5 Nm.
In petrol form, the ARAI-certified mileage of the Brezza sticks to 20.1 kmpl for the manual and 19.8 kmpl for the 6-speed AT. In CNG form, we expect the certified mileage to be north of 25 km/kg. The power and torque figures are definitely reduced but the mileage will go up thus saving the customer's pocket by a huge margin.
