Maruti recently launched the facelifted Baleno at a price of Rs 6.35 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and the deliveries for the same have already commenced. Now, Maruti is looking forward to the launch of the 2022 Wagon R and the variant-wise features list along with the brochure is now out.
As can see seen, the 2022 Wagon R focuses on safety and thus gets more than 12 features like hill hold control, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, ABS with EBD, dual airbags from base variant, speed-sensitive door lock, childproof rear door lock, front seat belt reminder with buzzer, rear parking sensors, security alarm, high-speed alert system, central locking and front fog lights. Do note that the hill hold control is limited to the AGS transmission only.
On the outside, there will now be two new colour shades - Gallant Red and Magma Grey with gloss black roof and ORVMs. The top-spec variants will now get restyled 14-inch alloy wheels design. Other than this, there won't be any more changes on the outside.

Feature-wise, the 2022 Wagon R also continues with a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all four power windows, day/night IRVM, manual AC and more. It also gets steering mounted controls, dual-tone interior, four speakers and more details will be known once the car is launched in the Indian market.
Under the hood, the current 1.0L K10B and 1.2L K12M units will be replaced by the latest 1.0L K10C DualJet, Dual VVT engine and 1.2L K12N DualJet, Dual VVT engine. Both these engines are equipped with idle start-stop technology. The ARAI fuel economy will also increase to 25.19 kmpl.

The upcoming Maruti Wagon R will be launched in five variants - LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI+ and ZXI+ dual-tone. Currently, it is priced from Rs 5.16 lakh to Rs 6.57 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. With the launch of the new model with added features, all the variants are expected to see a hike of at least Rs 10,000.
