Maruti just launched the updated 2022 WagonR at a price of Rs 5.40 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is now more fuel-efficient, packs in better safety features and offers two new colour options to choose from and among other details. One of the biggest changes is under the hood as the 1.0L K10B and 1.2L K12M units are replaced for better 1.0L K10C and 1.2L K12N DualJet petrol engines. With this, the ARAI certified fuel economy is also increased and in this article, we will be comparing the old vs new fuel economy of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR.

As can be seen, the new WagonR delivers a mileage of 24.35 kmpl with the 5-speed manual transmission and 25.19 kmpl with the AMT. Further, if you pick the CNG version equipped with the 1.0L petrol then it delivers 35.05 km/kg compared to 32.53 km/kg of the older model.

As can be seen, the power figures of the new 1.2L K12N engine is less by 1 bhp, however, the mileage now sticks to 23.56 kmpl for the manual and 24.43 kmpl for the AMT. The old WagonR used to deliver 21.5 kmpl for both the transmission options. This is a massive increase in terms of ARAI fuel economy with the new engine.
Maruti Suzuki now also provides a taxi version of the WagonR known as Tour H3 and that is only available with a 1.0L version. The ARAI certified mileage for the same too is increased to comply with the commercial market. In its petrol form, the Tour H3 returns an economy of 25.40 kmpl and 34.73 km/kg with the CNG.
