The 2022 MG ZS EV facelift is all set to make its Indian debut soon and will be offering an improved package to buyers looking for a practical, powerful, and premium electric car in India. While the brand is yet to announce the official launch timeline, we recently spotted the MG ZS EV facelift in Gurugram, thus hinting at a launch soon. Here are the top five things that you should know about this new upcoming electric SUV in India.
It Looks Different!
While the facelift model of the MG ZS EV made its global debut in September last year, no major updates were made to the car in India. However, the brand is now all set to introduce this new model and a quick look does hint us that the facelift ZS EV will closely resemble the global-spec model and share a lot of similarities with the MG Astor. Having said this, the car has new LED headlights, a new and modern front grille, and attractive LED taillights. Needless to say, both the bumpers now offer an updated design while the overall silhouette remains similar. The alloy wheels too get updated and now feature a more appealing design.

A New Cabin!
Inside, the new MG ZS EV might remind you of the MG Astor as the two cars not only share a similar basic layout but in addition to this, also offer a similar features list. Having said this, what remains exclusive to the ZS EV facelift is a new faux carbon fibre trim in the centre console while the older 8-inch touchscreen system is now replaced by a larger 10.1-inch system. Apart from that, it is interesting to note that the in-built AI robot that we get with the Astor is missing in the new ZS EV. The brand is also expected to offer a larger panoramic sunroof.
It's Safer Than Ever
With the launch of the new facelift model, MG will be offering an ADAS system in addition to many other safety features that make the ZS EV a lot safer than before. The car is expected to use the same radar and camera set-up for the ADAS system that is also offered with the MG Astor. Other features include a 360-degree camera, cruise control, rear parking sensors, etc. The build quality too is expected to be as good as before.

Updated Powertrain?
While the current iteration of the car gets a 143 hp motor that churns out 353 Nm of maximum torque output. This motor takes its juice from the 44.5 kWh battery pack. The new facelift model on the other hand is expected to get a larger 51 kWh battery pack that will offer improved range and slightly better performance. The British carmaker may also offer an even larger battery pack.
Expected Launch
The new ZS EV is expected to be launched in the Indian market in February 2022 and is expected to cost significantly more, when compared to the present model. The MG ZS EV is currently offering a great package to those looking for a premium electric car with impressive performance and range.
