Four years after its entry into the Indian market, the Skoda Kodiaq has now been re-launched in an updated avatar. The refreshed model features a tweaked styling and comes with a new engine. Moreover, as per the carmaker, the SUV has even received improvements to its chassis, driving dynamics and occupant safety. Finally, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq facelift even brings in improved connectivity and improvement options along with a handful of new luxury features.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Price in India
The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq facelift features a 2.0 TSI turbocharged, direct-injection petrol motor. The motor comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The refreshed model is on sale across the country at a starting price of INR 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). It is available in a seven-seater layout and in three trim options- Style, SportLine and Laurin & Klement.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift - Exterior Styling
The updated Kodiaq features a redesigned front and rear. The highlights of the front facade include an updated hexagonal grille, a new bonnet, an updated bumper and a new set of headlamps. At the rear, the car features a revised bumper and new taillight clusters. The revised headlamps carry Skoda's 'Crystalline' LED setup and feature illuminated eyelashes and dynamic turn indicators at the rear. Moreover, the SUV even features a new rear spoiler that improves the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle. Finally, the 18-inch alloy wheels are new and will be unique for all variants.
2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift - Interior Features
The updated SUV is being sold with an optional two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting and a Canton 625 W 12-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. Moreover, the users can operate the windows, door mirrors and the new panoramic sunroof remotely. Style and Laurin & Klement versions focus on offering a premium experience to the rear seat users with a stone beige leather perforated upholstery for the L&K, along with more chrome trim inside and out. Also, the top-spec L&K variant comes with 12-way adjustable electric seats with in-built cooling and heating options.

Meanwhile, the SportLine trim offers a driver-focussed layout with a full-black suede interior, 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, sports seats with more side bolstering, enhanced shoulder support and integrated headrests. All the trims carry the new 20.32 cm infotainment touchscreen equipped with inbuilt navigation and full connectivity via the My`KODA CONNECT App. The front passengers even get USB C ports, while the rear passengers get a 12V socket. Other highlights include wireless smartphone charger and support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The instrument cluster of the Style trim features a set of 4 analogue dials and digital screens to display important information to the driver. The SportLine and L&K trims, on the other hand, have a fully customizable Virtual Cockpit with digital dials and a digital console with five theme options. The safety suite which the car comes with includes as many as 9 airbags, adaptive front headlights, automatic dimming exterior mirror (on driver side) and defogging across all transparent surfaces, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic brake assist, stability control, multi-collision braking and park assist with handsfree parking. Additionally, the top-spec L&K trim even offers hill descent control and a 360-degree camera as standard.

The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq facelift offers a 40:20:40 split of second-row seats and a 50-50 split of the third-row backrest that can be fully folded down to boost the luggage carrying capacity of the vehicle. The new Kodiaq even offers double dashboard storage, under-steering storage and a front centre armrest storage. Other than this, the 7-seater SUV has a chilled and illuminated glove compartment in the front and 270 litres of boot space at the back with all the seats up. Also, with the third row of seats folded, the boot space swells up to 630-litres. Finally, with the second row folded, the boot space can be expanded to a whopping 2005 litres.
In signature Skoda style, the Kodiaq offers the signature umbrella wet case in each front door with an umbrella itself provided for the driver. The SUV also gets Virtual Pedal for the electric tailgate as a standard feature across all trims. For those looking to spend a lot of time travelling, the Kodiaq can be even kitted up with an optional Power Nap package that has a blanket to enhance the user experience.
2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift - Specifications
At the heart of the all new `KODA KODIAQ is the powerful yet efficient 2.0 TSI engine. Making 140kW (190 PS) and 320Nm, this engine allows the `KODA KODIAQ to accelerate to 100kph in just 7.8 seconds (claimed figure). Further enhancing the driving dynamics of this all-terrain luxury SUV is the Progressive Steering. It flexes its forces depending on driving conditions and vehicle speed, making the KODIAQ easy to manoeuvre at slow speeds and offering the driver better control at higher speeds.
In addition, the first-in-segment Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) offered in the L&K, further adds to the KODIAQ's capabilities of on-road and all-terrain dynamics. DCC allows the driver to select between Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sports, Snow and Individual driving modes. At the heart of the DCC are dual-shell, gas-liquid shock absorbers mated to an Electronic Control Unit that constantly monitors terrain and provides optimum damping characteristics to each shock absorber lending smooth and consistent ride and handling characteristics allowing a full-size SUV like the KODIAQ to pack in agile, car-like dynamics.
