Toyota is soon going to debut its upcoming new Innova MPV globally. The 2022 Toyota Innova Hycross MPV will make its debut in Indonesia on the forthcoming November 21. However, ahead of its official launch, Toyota is repeatedly teasing the car. Once again a teaser image has dropped on the international social media handles. Toyota Innova Hycross Details
The Hycross is a new generation of the Innova Crysta MPV. However, it is expected to be more of an evolution in the product range. The design of the front end has already been teased online by the company. Meanwhile, the side profile is now teased as well. The Hycross features sporty design elements like black-painted ORVMs, black roof rails, etc. Even the shoulder body lines are more muscular as compared to the current car.
Toyota has designed the Hycross on a monocoque chassis. Meanwhile, the Crysta uses a ladder-on-frame chassis type. This new transformation shall make the MPV more lighter and agile. Additionally, it is reported on the internet that Toyota will keep selling the Crysta and the Hycross. The Hycross is going to be called Zenix in the Indonesian market. Due to a bigger chassis, it will have more cabin space, more comfort, & more features. Toyota will equip the new MPV with features as such a panoramic sunroof, a bigger infotainment system, leather seats, a 360-degree park-assist camera, &, etc.
However, the Hycross is going to get only a petrol-hybrid engine. It will feature a Corolla Altis sourced 2.0-lt petrol engine. This motor is coupled with a strong hybrid system to provide more subtle performance & enhanced fuel economy. Toyota will offer it with manual as well as automatic gearbox options in India.
Verdict
The Hycross is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited car launches of this year. The domestic launch of Hycross is expected to take place at the Indian Auto Expo. Hence, there is still some time until we get our hands on the new Innova. Meanwhile, it is expected to bear a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh onwards. Its main rivals in India are - Mahindra Marazzo & KIA Carens.
