Hyundai Motor India Limited launched the Aura Facelift soon after the launch of its hatchback sibling, the Grand i10 Nios Facelift. The compact sedan was initially launched back in the year 2020 and now coming to 2023, was due for a much-needed update. The four-wheeler is priced in the range of Rs. 6.30 lakh to Rs. 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Here are the top 5 highlights of the 2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift.

2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift: Exterior Design Changes
While the sedan sports a similar silhouette as the outgoing model, there are some visible differentiating elements. Upfront, the single-piece grille is now replaced by a more sophisticated slim upper part and a wider lower unit which houses the LED DRLs and slanting air ducts. In order to carve out space for the new grille, the front bumper has been given a minor rework and it looks more aggressive now.
Towards the sides, the overall affairs are pretty much the same as the outgoing model and nothing major has been updated at the rear too. Apart from these, a new Starry Night paint scheme has been added to the package and the boot lip spoiler is now offered as standard across the range which was earlier limited to the top-end trims.
2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift: Interiors and Features
Inside the cabin, the overall layout is maintained, however, sees the addition of an altogether new fabric upholstery for seats. Along with this, premium gloss black inserts, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, chrome finish on the gear knob, parking lever tip as well as metal finish inside door handles have been added to the package.
In terms of features, a new 3.5-inch digital MID, Footwell lighting, Type C fast USB charging and automatic headlamps are the major feature addition to the new model. Apart from these, the sedan still continues to get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, cruise control, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs and more.
2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift: Enhanced Safety
With the facelift, the Aura has taken a major leap in the safety features department. The four-wheeler now packs 4 airbags as a part of standard equipment, along with ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder and parking assist amongst others. The higher trims further get newly added safety tech such as 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM) and hill start assist control.
2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift: Variants and Pricing
The Hyundai Aura Facelift is offered in a total of 4 variants i.e E, S, SX and SX(O). The petrol automatic powertrain is limited to the SX trim which is named the SX+ in its automatic guise. The CNG fuel option is available in S and SX variants.
Talking about the pricing, the range starts from Rs. 6.30 lakh going all the way up to Rs. 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG S and SX trims are priced at Rs. 8.10 lakh and Rs. 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom). The only automatic SX+ variant in the line-up costs Rs. 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line SX(O) variant will set you back by Rs. 8.56 lakh (ex-showroom).
2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift: Powertrain
As the case with the Grand i10 Nios Facelift, the 1.0-litre tGDi petrol engine has been given a miss for the Aura Facelift as well. Apart from this, everything under the hood remains the same. The 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine puts out 83 bhp and 113.8 Nm of peak torque, mated to the option of a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. The 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel engine (Petrol with CNG) comes with a power output rated at 69 bhp and 95.2 Nm of peak torque and it is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Verdict: The 2023 Hyundai Aura Facelift is an overall great package in terms of design, features, safety equipment as well as powertrain. It rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor in the domestic market. The improvements over the previous model justify the price increment, however, only time will tell whether the compact sedan will appeal to Indian car buyers or not.
