2023 Mini Cooper 3-Door was spied testing with an ICE-powered engine. The new hot-hatchback will make it to India by next year. Read all the details below.
The BMW-owned MINI brand is already working towards becoming an all-electric manufacturer by the year 2030, But, this does not mean that the fun-to-drive ICE-powered MINI cars will be left behind in the current scenario. Proving this fact, the 2023 Mini Cooper 3-Door facelift was spied testing in Germany recently. The camouflaged car gives us a rough idea of what the new facelift can bring along when it is launched globally next year.
We've already shown you the electric Mini Cooper which was spied at a dealership parking lot in China. When those spy shots went viral, most of the automotive world anticipated the design of the EV Mini Cooper will be followed by the upcoming facelifted ICE-powered siblings as well. Well, the recent spy pics reveal that the design for both cars will be different and it'll be much easier to distinguish between an ICE Mini and an EV Mini. While the EV car has diamond-shaped LED tail-lights, the upcoming ICE Mini Cooper will keep using the iconic 'Union Jack' tail-lights.
Apart from this, the overall design silhouette looks similar to the current-gen F56 model Mini-cars. While there is a slight difference in the LED headlight design, the front, and the rear bumpers as well look redesigned. We also expect the iconic 3-door design layout to remain persistent with the upcoming facelifted model. Yes, Mini might provide the facelift with a larger, crisper, and more tech-loaded touchscreen infotainment system on the inside.

Contrary to the belief of facelifts, the new 2023 Mini Cooper will continue using the same 1.5-Lt and 2.0-Lt turbocharged engine options; meaning petrol and diesel choices will be given once the new car gets launched globally. Technically, we do not expect many changes. The engine options are the same, the gearbox will most probably remain unchanged, but Mini engineers might fiddle with the steering response and ride-handling balance for a more engaging driving experience. Also, it is anticipated that the upcoming Mini Cooper will remain an FWD-equipped car.
The new facelifted Mini Cooper is expected to launch by the next year i.e. 2023 globally. Once introduced, it is no surprise to us that Mini will launch the new Cooper in India as well. Currently, the F56 Mini Cooper 3-door sells at Rs 39 Lakhs (ex-showroom); no wonder with the more tech-laden car the prices will go up shortly.
