Toyota Innova HyCross Details
The upcoming HyCross is going to replace the current-gen Innova Crysta partially. This means that the Crysta will only remain for sale to the fleet owners. However, the HyCross will feature radical design changes. The outlook and design of the HyCross are going to be more sophisticated. It will cater to premium MPV buyers who look for chauffer-driven comfort. Additionally, the interior space management is going to be revised for a more spacious cabin.
Meanwhile, the front of the test car uses a redesigned grille & new LED DRL as well as projector headlights. Similarly, the rear end design also has a new taillight design as well as a new boot design. However, the overall silhouette of the new car is more or less similar to the current gen. The alloy wheels, however, are new and seem diamond cut multi-spoke in design. It is also expected that the HyCross will have more interior features. It will have redesigned cabin as well with a new dashboard, speedometer & maybe even a new steering wheel.
But, the majority of these details can not be confirmed until now. We expect that the car is already production-ready and is undergoing final testing. This possibly means that its launch is going to take place soon in India.
Engine & Specifications
The engine of HyCross is going to be an exciting unit. Toyota will fit a petrol strong hybrid engine in the HyCross. The Crysta will remain on sale side-by-side for diesel-demanding owners. Meanwhile, the HyCross will feature a more sophisticated engine. The mix of strong hybrid with petrol will ensure high fuel economy figures for the owners as well.
We suspect that Toyota will fit a new petrol engine with a smaller capacity. As the current petrol engine is a 2.7-lt unit, the new one will be smaller as compared. This shall lead to more fuel economy. Additionally, the combo of hybrid petrol is going to make the cabin insulation much better. Upon its launch, its main rival is the Mahindra Marazzo.
