Nissan Magnite Facelift To Get Sunroof and 6 Airbags?
As per an online report, Nissan is eyeing introducing segment-first features with the facelift of Magnite. While its exteriors will also get a tone of refreshment, the interiors will be equipped with 6 airbags and a single-pane sunroof. Currently, there is no rival that offers sunroof in this segment. Moreover, the updated car will get refreshed lights, bumpers, and front grille. The alloy wheel design is likely to be updated as well. On the inside, a new dashboard design with a floating infotainment screen is likely to be offered.
Safety is yet another important factor for new car buyers. Nissan Magnite has been a safe car as it had earlier scored a 4-star crash test rating by GNCAP. Maybe it is the reason that despite being the only model on sale by Nissan, customers are willing to buy the Magnite. The new model is expected to increase this rating as it'll be equipped with 6 airbags. The possibility of a 360-degree parking camera can not be denied as well.
As it'll be a mid-life facelift, the car will not receive any mechanical updates. Hence, the current engine and transmission options will remain on offer as it is. The current model comes with the option of a 999cc, three-cylinder, petrol engine with a naturally aspirated turbo option. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT, a 5-speed AMT, and a CVT automatic (for turbo). Its competitors include Renault Kiger, Maruti Fronx, and Tata Punch.

Verdict
Nissan India's approach for the Indian market might not seem very enticing but the Magnite has been a good performer for the brand since the launch. However, its time now to get it a refreshed look so that the new customers remain excited to get their hands on Magnite. We suspect that Nissan will bring better and bigger cars to India in the next 2 years.
