- Tata Harrier facelift has several times been spotted during test runs
- Harrier facelift is likely to get an exterior design inspired by Harrier EV
- The Harrier facelift is expected to get more advanced connected car tech
Tata Motors has been testing the Harrier facelift on Indian roads and several test vehicles have been spotted in the recent few months. Tata Harrier recently received a feature update that includes ADAS tech, a 360-degree view camera system, a new large 10.24-inch infotainment system, a new 7-inch instrument cluster display, etc. However, this was just a mid-life feature update and not a facelift. Tata is readying the Harrier facelift with a completely new front design which is likely to be inspired by the Harrier EV we saw at the 2023 auto expo. Apart from the exterior design changes, Tata will also change a few things in the interior of the upcoming Harrier facelift. Here we have discussed 3 major interior changes expected in the upcoming Tata Harrier facelift.
Tata Harrier Facelift To Offer Next-Gen Advanced Telematics Features
The ongoing Tata Harrier does offer IRA-connected car tech. But it is quite outdated and lacks several features like remote AC operation, remote engine start/stop, remote ventilated seat control, remote air-purifier operation, smartwatch integration, H2C (Home To Car with Alexa & Google Assistant), etc. Many rivals of Tata Harrier like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, etc, offer these features. Moreover, even the Tata Nexon EV & EV Max offers remote AC operation & smartwatch integration features. We expect Tata to upgrade its IRA tech and offer such advanced telematics and connected car features in the upcoming Harrier facelift.
Tata Harrier Facelift To Offer A New Transmission
Recently, the interiors of the Harrier facelift test vehicle were spied. The spied images revealed a new design gear lever. The small gear lever looks like the one we see on some luxury & premium cars. It looks like a shift-by-wire type gear lever. There's also a 'P' or parking mode button just below the gear lever. This means the transmission in Harrier facelift will either be a torque converter unit like the ongoing model or it could also be a DCA/DCT unit like the one in Tata Altroz.
Tata Harrier Facelift To Offer A New Design Steering
In one of the spied interior images of the Harrier facelift, one can easily notice a new design of steering-mounted controls that have been placed in a temporary manner on the steering wheel. The steering wheel in the spied image is the same as in the ongoing Harrier, whereas, the mounted controls are of a new design. Moreover, the recently spied interiors of the Nexon facelift also had a new design steering wheel with steering-mounted controls similar to that in the above spy image. This means that the Tata Harrier facelift will also get the new design two-spoke steering wheel which is expected to become standard in all Tata cars in the future.
