In November 2021, BYD, a Chinese automaker, introduced its first all-electric car in India, the BYD e6 MPV. The company has begun delivering its first batch of e6 to B2B clients, following its recent launch. BYD delivered 30 luxury pure electric e6 MPVs in the first batch, in white and blue with a black roof option colour.
BYD has been selling electric buses in India since 2007, and the company has launched its e6 all-electric MPV to the country in 2021. These 30 vehicles will be delivered to consumers in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Delhi, and Mumbai, among other locations. The e6 MPV is only available to B2B customers, and the company has set up a dealer network in eight locations across the country. While the company will commence B2C sales if they get a good initial response. While the company will begin a B2C sales model if the initial response is positive.

BYD e6 MPV
The BYD e6 is an all-electric MPV though it comes with a five-seater variant only, the vehicle offers a massive 580 litres boot space. If we talk about the powerhouse of the e6, it comes with a 71.7 kWh Blade Battery with a 520 km range as per world harmonized light-duty vehicle test procedure. The range of the vehicle is currently the highest among other electric vehicles offered in India. The battery of the All-New e6 enables both AC and DC fast charging, which can charge from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes.
The car also includes a slew of features which includes LED daytime running lights and LED rear combo lamps. The enhanced interior includes leather seats and 6-way adjustable driver and front passenger seats. A 10.1-inch rotatable touch screen enables seamless Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity. It also has a CN95 air filtration system that purifies the air to the level of a medical mask.

BYD e6s safety features include airbags in the driver and front passenger seats, as well as a seat belt reminder for everyone. The new model also includes a speed-sensing automatic locking system and a rearview camera with a distance scale line. The all-new e6 also comes with a 3-year/125,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, an 8-year/500,000-kilometer battery cell guarantee, and an 8-year/150,000-kilometer traction motor warranty.
BYD has a well-established network in cities such as Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Chennai, and others.
