Buying a car is everyone's dream but with the shortage of semi-conductor chips globally, the waiting period for new cars has surely gone up. Even the country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is suffering from the shortage of semi-conductor chips and in this article, we will be sharing the waiting period of cars from Alto to Vitara Brezza.
Maruti Alto
One of the most affordable hatchbacks in the country, Alto commands a waiting period of 6-8 weeks for the petrol version and the CNG equipped variants gets a staggering waiting period of 8-10 weeks. Maruti Alto is powered by a 0.8L petrol motor that generates as much as 47 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 69 Nm. In its CNG form, the power and peak torque figures stick to 40 bhp and 60 Nm respectively. Maruti Alto is priced from Rs 3.25 lakh to Rs 4.95 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Maruti Celerio
The recently launched hatchback that targets Tata Tiago and Hyundai Santro does not have any official waiting period on petrol manual and CNG models. However, the AMT version command a waiting period from 4 to 6 weeks in total. Maruti Celerio is priced from Rs 5.15 lakh to Rs 6.94 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

In other news, Maruti is all set to launch the new Vitara Brezza that will rival Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. It receives an updated design, new engine specs and more. Under the hood, there's a new 1.5L DualJet petrol and the 4-speed AT now gets replaced by an all-new 6-speed torque converter unit.
