Citroen C3 Aircross Fuel Economy - Better Than Rivals?
Now, as the media drives have started, Citroen has briefed the media about the specs of the C3 Aircross. As per the company, it'll be offered in a single powertrain option. This is a 1.2-lt turbo-petrol engine which we've seen on the C3 hatchback as well. This engine produces a peak power of 110bhp & 190 Nm of peak torque. It'll be mated to a 6-speed MT transmission option only. Hence, its claimed fuel economy of it stands at a decent 18.5 kmpl mark. This means that it'll be more fuel economical than some of its rivals like Hyundai Creta & KIA Seltos.
While the engine specifications might not feel very intriguing, Citroen claims that this engine has been re-tuned for a comfortable driving experience. Additionally, the longer platform means more utility and passenger space. The interesting part is that it'll be offered in two different seating layouts. The first will be a 5-seater which is bound to offer more boot space. But, users with big families, can also opt for the 7-seater variants. Hence, it'll also become the first vehicle in its category to offer a 7-seat layout option. Feature-wise, the Aircross will offer decent equipment. For example, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital cockpit, rear seat AC, etc., will be available depending on the variant chosen.
Verdict
The pricing of C3 Aircross will be soon announced. It is based on the same platform as the C3 but the architecture of it have been revamped. However, it'll be one of the most fuel economical SUVs in its segment as per the company. We're yet to test the C3 Aircross but if you're planning to buy one; its bookings will commence from September while the deliveries will start from October. We expect that it'll be priced from Rs 9 lakh - Rs 14 lakh.
