Citroen India recently launched the C3 at a starting price of Rs 5.71 lakh and the top-spec model fetching till 8.06 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. While it offers over 70 accessories to the consumer and two engine options to choose from, the safety rating of this car is not out yet. Citroen C3 is a good product and it rivals Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. But is it a safer product? Let's find it out.
International Model Received 4 stars in 2017
Yes, the international C3 received four stars and that too in the Euro NCAP crash test rating. The hatchback proved out to be 88% safer for adults and 83% for children. However, this India-spec version is an all-new model and will have to undergo Global NCAP or the Bharat NCAP safety rating.
Rivals Tata Punch In The Segment
The C3 primarily takes on the Tata Punch since both are new products in the Indian market. The Punch scored 5 stars at the Global NCAP crash test thus making it the safest car in the segment. Its other rival, Maruti Ignis too is equally safe as it scored 3 stars while the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger have scored 4 stars.
Standard Safety Features Offered In The Citroen C3
The car is equipped with dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminder, high-speed alert system, rear doors manual child lock and engine immobilizer as standard across both the trims. The Feel trim also gets a speed-sensitive auto door lock as an additional safety feature too.

Offers A Good Drive Factor And Has Got A Good Built
Citroen C3 feels good to drive in the city as well as at highway speeds. Offered with two petrol engine options, buyers can pick the relaxed driving with the 1.2L non-turbo and a performance-oriented one with the 1.2L turbo petrol motor. The car has a good built too as we closed the door and the 'thud' sound assured of the safety. Let's just hope that the Citroen C3 scored well at the Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP crash test rating.
