Citroen India has launched the electric variant of the C3 hatchback called the eC3 BEV at an introductory price of Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has released the BEV in two variants: Live & Feel, which costs between Rs. 11.50 lakh and Rs. 12.43 lakh (ex-showroom). Beginning at the end of February, La Maison Citroen physical showrooms around the nation will begin delivering Citroen eC3s to both B2B and B2C customers.

Citroen eC3 - Powertrain
For the Citroen eC3, a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 57 bhp and 143 Nm are coupled. The 320-kilometer ARAI-certified electric driving range of the Citroen electric hatchback. The hatch has a top speed of 107 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in under 6.8 seconds. The battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 57 minutes when using DC rapid charging. A typical 15AMP plug point, however, takes roughly 10.5 hours to fully charge.

For B2B customers, this option is available for up to 5 years and 200 thousand kilometres (5 products are offered in this range). For B2C customers, this option is available for up to 5 years and 140 thousand kilometres (4 products available within this range). For B2B customers, the extended warranty on add-on goods like the eMotor and battery is up to 7 years and 200 thousand kilometres; for B2C customers (just the eMotor), it is up to 7 years and 140 thousand kilometres.
Verdict: The recently released Citroen eC3 is more expensive than Tata Tiago EV, which is its main challenger. Compared to the Citroen eC3, the Tiago EV provides greater features, more model choices, and other advantages. It will be interesting to see which entry-level EVs sell more units.
