Hyundai has updated the CNG line-up of Aura CNG and now it comes with a feature-loaded variant, SX. This trim is priced at Rs 8.57 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and it will directly rival the Tata Tigor XZ+ CNG and Maruti Dzire ZXI CNG.
This well-equipped CNG trim gets a premium of Rs 95,000 over the petrol counterpart SX. Powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated motor, in its CNG form, it generates 68 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 95 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only.
Feature-wise, the SX CNG trim carries forward all the features from the S variant. It gets more like an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15-inch alloy wheels, cooled glove box, steering mounted controls and power-folding outside rear-view mirrors.
Safety features on this trim conclude dual airbags at the front, front seat-belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, rear parking camera, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, speed-sensing door lock, keyless entry, child safety lock and more.
In other news, Hyundai also sells the Aura with a more powerful, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor. This engine is the same as found in the Venue but generates less power and torque figures. The 1.0L motor in the Aura belts out 99 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 172 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only.
It is the only trim of Aura that attracts the highest discount almost every month. However, Hyundai claims that the overall monthly sales of both Aura and Grand i10 Nios stick to 6,000 units and are happy with the sales performance. This new SX trim shall surely improve the sales of the Aura.
