On this day last year, the Hyundai Exter was launched, marking Hyundai's entry into the sub-compact SUV segment. This move positions Hyundai to compete with giants like the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. To celebrate its first anniversary, the Korean company has introduced the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition, enhancing its aesthetics with an all-black paint option that includes the alloy wheels, grille, and front and rear bumpers. To add a dramatic touch, red accents are also featured on the bumpers, tailgate, and brake calipers.

Price of Hyundai Exter Knight Edition
The Exter Knight Edition starts at Rs 8.38 lakh ex-showroom for the SX variant and is limited to a petrol engine. Priced between Rs 8.38 lakh and Rs 10.43 lakh (SX (O) Connect-Dual Tone), customers can choose between these models with either a manual or AMT transmission.
Exterior Hightlights of Knight Edition
The important changes to the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition are primarily on the exterior, featuring an all-black treatment as shown in the teaser video. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice red accents on the front grille, adding a dramatic flair to the Knight Edition.
These red accents are also present on the brake calipers and tailgate lid, enhancing its special edition appeal. Additionally, you'll find the Knight Edition badging on the tailgate, further distinguishing this model. Additionally, the Exter comes with 5 monotone and two dual-tone paint options, which are:

Interior Hightlight of Knight Edition
The all-black treatment extends to the interior as well, with the seats, dashboard, and door handles all in black. However, you'll find red stitching on the gear lever and seats, adding a touch of contrast. Additionally, the AC vent adjusters and automatic AC dials are also in red. While the teaser video didn't show it, we can expect the floor mats to be in red as well.
Engine Specifications
The engine remains the same as before, a 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa engine, producing 82 PS and 113.8 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. The ARAI mileage of the Exter is 19.2 kmpl. The vehicle drives smoothly, with seamless gearshifts that are barely noticeable.
The engine is refined and offers impressive mid-range performance, which is particularly useful in city traffic. Overall, this is a dependable engine that can run for long periods without causing any headaches.
