Hyundai was on a roll in 2019 by first launching the Kona EV, followed by the compact SUV, Venue then the Grand i10 Nios. The Nios is a successor to the Grand i10 and in this first look review we will find out whether the hatchback from Hyundai is a worthy buy or not!
Introduction
We all know that the smaller Grand i10 has been in the market for more than 5 years now and it really needed an upgrade. So Hyundai planned to launch an all-new version which goes by the name Nios. It not only looks better but also comes with improved dimensions, better space and BS6 engines. The car is available in 6 monotone colour options - Polar White, Typhoon Grey, Aqua Teal, Aqua Blue, Titan Grey and Fiery Red. The dual-tone with contrast Black roof is offered Polar White, Fiery Red and Aqua Blue.
Exteriors and Dimensions
The new Grand i10 Nios 40mm longer, 20mm wider and height remains identical at 1520 mm. Hyundai has added a bit of European touch to the design which gives it an upmarket look. At the front, the grille is now wider and the attractive boomerang LED DRLs looks good. Hyundai has also given projector headlight which is a first in Grand i10.

Both the front and rear bumper design is new and the side profile now sees 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It gets a high raised bonnet and Gi10 badging on the C pillar.
Interiors
The cabin gets a major overhaul upgrade from before. It continues with a dual-tone colour layout but now with grey interiors which makes the cabin feel airy. The turbo petrol 1.0L engine gets all-black interiors with red inserts. Space is impressive, slightly more than its main rival, the Swift.
Engines
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios continues with the same 1.2L petrol and diesel engine as before but now in a BS6 form. The petrol makes as much as 83 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque while the diesel generates 75 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Both the engines get mated to a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.

Hyundai has also introduced a more powerful petrol engine which is borrowed from the Venue. This detuned 1.0L turbocharged petrol makes 99 bhp with a peak torque of 172 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Features
This newer iteration of Grand i10 comes with features like wireless charging, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Furthermore, it gets automatic climate control, Arkamys sound system, 5.3-inch digital MID screen, cooled glove box, keyless entry, multi-function steering wheel, push-button start/stop and among others.
Safety features on the Grand i10 Nios continue with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert system, front seat-belt reminder, rear parking sensors and more.
Prices
Hyundai Grand i10 gets a sticker price of Rs 5.07 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.30 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The hatchback competes with Tata Tiago, Maruti Swift and Ford Figo.
