- Hyundai i20 gets a price cut in the Sportz variant
- Automatic AC not included for keeping costs down
- Hyundai i10 NIOS new variant Sportz Executive launched
In a world where we are witnessing a price hike across car makers and car models, Hyundai has gone against the wind. The Hyundai i20 Sportz is now cheaper by Rs. 3500, but it comes at a cost. Automatic climate control has been removed from this particular variant. Plus, a new Sportz Executive trim is added to the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
Let's look at what this development offers and what it should have.
Hyundai i20 Sportz Variant Now Starts At Rs. 8,05,200
What at first feels like a sigh of relief is also something that carries a bit of discomfort as well. The Hyundai i20 Sportz variant now starts at Rs. 8,05,200, compared to the Rs. 8,08,700 pricing before. The sacrifice that you will be making is the surrendering of automatic climate control, hence the price cut. This is a heat that you will be facing, that you will have to adjust manually (quite literally).
If this price cut is worth missing out on automatic climate control is something that you need to decide for yourself.
In effect, Hyundai i20 Sportz trim level now starts at Rs. 8,05,200 for petrol MT, Rs. 8,20,200 for petrol MT dual tone, and Rs. 9,07,000 for petrol iVT (prices ex-sh, Delhi).

Hyundai i10 NIOS: New Sportz Executive Variant
Prices for the new Hyundai Grand i10 Sportz Executive are now at Rs. 7,16,400 for the petrol MT variant and Rs. 7,70,200 for petrol AMT (prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Sportz Executive costs Rs. 3,500 less when compared to the regular Sportz trim. With Sportz Executive trim, automatic climate control is no more included, and in its place, is a manual AC/heater setup found on the Magna trim. Regular Sportz variants with Grand i10 NIOS get automatic climate control and pricing remains the same.
VERDICT- The new pricing is a different ballgame altogether. The Hyundai went against the trend to offer a price cut. But in the course, the features were sacrificed. For a Rs 3500 price cut, is it worth missing out on a utility feature like the automatic climate control on the i20? Well, it isn't the best bargain in the history of bargains at all. If you want automatic AC, you should now look at Asta trim, starting from Rs. 9,01,100. With the i10 NIOS, the introduction of a new variant with manual ac offers a bit more flexibility in choice.
