Hyundai Motors has ambitious plans to launch multiple offerings in the next few years in India. All the upcoming models will be mass-market models which will also include the Inster and Creta EV and then the Inster EV. Hyundai Inster EV Price Details
According to the leaked document, the Hyundai Inster EV's top-end variant is priced at 31,493,670 KRW (nearly Rs. 18.99 lakh). The Inspiration trim comes equipped with a 49kWh battery pack that returns a driving range of 355 km per charge. The lower trims of the small EV get a 42 kWh battery pack which provides 300 km of range on a single charge.
There are various options for customisation with the Inster EV. So, customers will be able to personalize their car by paying some extra amount. The automaker is offering a sunroof package at 400,000 KRW (nearly Rs. 24,100). There are other options such as Convenience Plus, Exterior Design, Parking Assist, Hi-Pass System, Hyundai Smart Sense and Sound System. All these customisations have prices ranging between 200,000 KRW-1200,000 (Rs. 12,000 to 72,400).
Hyundai Inster EV Features
The Hyundai Inster EV offers features such as a dual 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system-one as an infotainment system and another as a digital instrument cluster. Other features of the Inster EV include a multi-functional steering wheel, a drive mode selector, and automatic climate control. Additionally, the small EV also get ambient lighting, an ADAS suite, a blind-spot monitor, a 360-degree camera and a sunroof.
Hyundai Inster EV: Performance
The Hyundai Inster is available in two battery pack options- 42kWh and 49 kWh lithium-ion unit. The EV comes with a 2WD setup and a single motor, generating a maximum power output of 95 bhp (standard variant) and 113 bhp (long-range variant). Both variants churn out 147 Nm of torque. Another key point is the Inster EV returns a maximum driving range of up to 355 km and charges from 10-80 per cent in 30 minutes with a 120 kW DC charger.
Verdict
Hyundai's approach with the Inster EV for India seems promising, offering competitive pricing and impressive features like dual 10.25-inch touchscreens and extensive customization options. With decent range and fast charging capability, it targets practicality and tech-savvy drivers. However, success will hinge on delivering reliability and maintaining competitive pricing amid rising EV competition.
