The Hyundai Venue is Indias best-selling sub-compact SUV, and that reflects in its sales figures. It just sold more than 250,000 units, and it costs between Rs. 6,50,000 to Rs. 11,00,000 lakh.
The Hyundai Venue is one of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in India. Its futuristic design and wide range of engine and transmission options make it quite an attractive package. It competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and the recently launched Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Tata Punch.
The Venue did set off with a promising start when 50,000 units were sold in the first 6 months. Sales did slow down a bit due to the pandemic, but even then 100,000 units were sold in 15 months. And by the end of the 25th month, almost 200,000 units were sold. Going by this trajectory, Hyundai sold almost 10,000 units of the Venue every month for next 5 months to reach the current milestone of 250,000 units.

The Venue always had a flamboyant appeal with its design. Starting with the split headlamp design, that is inspired by the Creta. The uber quotient of the Venue lies with the fact that it can store plenty of small items on board, and it also has a massive boot space at 350-litres. The price quotient also plays a big factor in favour of the Venue for its price between Rs 7.00 lakhs to Rs. 11.80 lakhs.

Hyundai has three engine options for the Venue. Theres a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 81.86 bhp and 113.7 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine produces 98.6 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. The 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol engine is the most powerful engine in this line-up, for it produces 118.35 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Its the only engine that is available with a 7-speed DCT. Speaking of which, Venue is also available with an Intelligent Manual Transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission.
A fair portion of the Venues appeal lies with its fuel efficiency as well. The 1.0-litre GDI turbo engine options with the 6-speed manual deliver 18.27 kmpl, and if mated to the 7-speed DCT returns 18.15 kmpl. The standard 1.2-litre petrol engine with the 6-speed manual transmission returns the lowest at 17.52 kmpl, and the 1.5-litre diesel engine returns the highest at 23.7 kmpl.

The Venue might not boast of class-leading legroom space, but the cabin comes fairly equipped with features. Like the 8-inch touch screen system, an air-purifier, wireless phone charger, cooled glove box, are just a few of them. The exterior also gets quirky adds in the form of an ORVM rearview mirror, projector fog lamps, and an electric sunroof.
