Hyundai's Venue lineup just got a bit pricier, with select diesel variants experiencing a price hike of up to Rs. 11,900. The S+ 1.5 diesel MT variant takes the biggest hit, while the SX 1.5 diesel MT, SX(O) 1.5 diesel MT, and their dual-tone counterparts see a slightly smaller increase of Rs. 9,900. If you're considering one of these diesel Venue models, be prepared to shell out a bit more than before.
The base price of the Hyundai Venue just bumped up, with all variants powered by the 1.2L petrol engine experiencing a Rs. 4,900 hike. This means the entry-level E trim now starts at Rs. 7.94 lakh, while the top-selling SX trim with the same engine lands at Rs. 10.68 lakh. While the bump might seem manageable for higher trims, it's a noticeable jump for budget-conscious buyers. For those considering the top-dog SX(O) 1.5L diesel MT dual-tone, be prepared to shell out Rs. 13.44 lakh, a pricier proposition than before.
Hyundai India upped the ante with SmartSense ADAS safety tech for both Venue and its sporty N Line sibling. Plus, a sprightly new 1.0L turbo engine paired with a slick 6-speed manual joins the party, promising thrilling drives and sips of fuel
Powertrain
Hyundai's versatile Venue offers diverse powertrain options Choose from a peppy 83PS 1.2L petrol, a punchy 120PS 1.0L turbo-petrol, or a torquey 116PS/250Nm 1.5L diesel. Each engine can be paired with a manual, while the turbo-petrol gets optional automatic and clutchless manual choices.
The Hyundai Venue N Line faces competition from the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon.
Verdict
While the price hike may not be excessively high, it certainly adds a bit to the overall cost. However, the addition of ADAS technology and the manual gearbox provides a refreshing update that makes the Hyundai Venue an attractive option in the compact SUV segment
