Hyundai is all set to launch the updated Hyundai Verna 2020 in India later this month. We have confirmed news that dealer dispatch has started and the same can be seen in the picture below. The company has also shared official images and this updated Verna does look sexier now in our opinion. Prices are expected to take a small hike due to the BS6 compliance.
Apart from the sleeker looks, the new Hyundai Verna 2020 will also get a jazzier set of alloy wheels. This seems to be the top spec SX(O) model that has dual tone, machined cut alloy wheels. Tyre size will remain same but in terms of features, Hyundai will up the ante as far as C segment sedans are concerned. This segment is currently ruled by the Maruti Ciaz and the all-new Honda City, due for launch soon, will also make the new Verna's task difficult.
The big news in the new Verna are the engine options. This model will get the 1.0 Turbo GDi unit that is also seen in the Venue, NIOS and the Aura. In the Verna, it will develop 120 PS of power at 4000rpm along with 170 Nm of torque. Hyundai will offer both a 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed dual clutch automatic with this engine option. Its not just the new Verna but other sedans too that will shift to a smaller engine in this segment - these units are low emission friendly and frugal and yet offer good amount of performance for the price.
The new Verna is also expected to ditch the older 1.4 and 1.6 diesel units in favour of the 1.5 that will seen on the new Creta. This is the same engine that was first seen on the Seltos. As we understand, the 1.5 diesel Verna will come with both a 6 speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission. Expect Hyundai to announce the pricing later this month!
