Kia has finally launched the Seltos with the iMT gearbox at a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It should be worth noting that this is the first iMT vehicle in India with a diesel motor. The Seltos gets an iMT gearbox with the 1.5L naturally aspirated engine too.
Kia Seltos diesel iMT is limited to just HTK+ variant only. Up until now, iMT was seen with the petrol motor only but buyers are adapting to this transmission quite rapidly. With iMT, the vehicle is operated just like a manual one sans clutch. This is also a cheaper alternative for those looking to buy an automatic car.
This 1.5L, four-cylinder, BS6 compliant turbocharged diesel engine offers 113 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 250 Nm. This engine gets paired to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and also gets an optional 6-speed torque converter unit. With the introduction of iMT with a single variant, Kia might introduce it with other variants too if the sales are good.

Other updates in the MY2022 model of the Kia Seltos include a tweaked suspension set-up to improve the ride quality and comfort of passengers. Earlier, the suspension of the Seltos was quite stiff. It also gets new wheel covers with the Kia logo at the centre.
Kia Seltos is now also equipped with four airbags, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, all-wheel disc brakes and more as a standard fitment. Its younger sibling, Sonet too gets four airbags and TPMS as standard across all variants.
