This also marks the first sighting of an XUV.e9 prototype in India. The XUV.e9 is essentially a coupe version of the XUV.e8, which has been previously spied multiple times. Notably, the XUV.e9 appears noticeably sleeker and more appealing compared to the XUV.e8, suggesting it could have strong potential for export markets in Mahindra's lineup.

In a recent teaser, one of Mahindra's upcoming next-generation EVs was seen reaching a remarkable 200 km/h on the speedometer. This is an impressive speed achievement for an electric vehicle, although it's worth noting that this speed is indicated on the speedometer, and there may be a slight deviation from the actual speed. Mahindra, however, did not specify which of the three vehicles achieved this impressive speed in the teaser.

It's noteworthy that all three SUVs, namely the Mahindra XUV.e8, XUV.e9, and BE.05, are built upon the INGLO platform. This versatile platform accommodates both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, and it is capable of delivering power outputs of up to 395PS. Such robust performance capabilities are essential for an electric vehicle to achieve the high speeds demonstrated in the teaser. Mahindra's electric SUVs, with their ability to exceed this speed, could become some of the fastest Indian EVs on the market.

Launch Timeline And Expected Price

The Mahindra XUV.08 will lead the pack and is set to debut by December 2024, with an anticipated starting price of Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). Following this, the XUV.09 will be introduced, likely by April 2025, and it's expected to start at a price of around Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom). Lastly, the Mahindra BE.05 is scheduled for a late 2025 launch, with prices expected to commence at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict

Mahindra's upcoming electric SUV lineup, including the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, and BE.07, represents an exciting leap in India's electric vehicle landscape. With impressive speeds, diverse offerings, and a phased launch plan, Mahindra aims to make a significant impact in the EV market. These vehicles are poised to be some of the fastest Indian EVs, offering performance, variety, and innovation.
