1. Range And Battery Details
The Mahindra BE 6e is the latest from the brand and when it comes to the battery, it is available with two battery pack options: a 59kWh unit and a 79kWh unit, both utilizing Lithium-Iron Phosphate chemistry. The larger 79kWh battery pack offers an ARAI-certified range of 682 km and a WLTP-certified range of 550 km. The smaller 59kWh battery pack provides an ARAI-certified range of 535 km and what's even more commendable is that Mahindra is offering a lifetime warranty on both battery packs which would be a big booster for peace of mind of buyers. Moving ahead, it also claims a fast charging time of 20 minutes (20-80%) using a 175kW DC fast charger.
2. Styling
The BE 6e's striking design, featuring sharp lines and bold accents, is complemented by pronounced wheel arches and a distinctive air duct between the headlights. The interior, inspired by a fighter jet cockpit, boasts a futuristic design with a prominent gear lever and a central console reminiscent of a hypercar. To be honest, the brand has done a very good job at designing the vehicle and it is something that you will take a second look at after you park.
3. Interior And Features
The BE 6e is equipped with a range of advanced features, including a single-pane sunroof, dual super screens, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, a built-in Alexa assistant, connected car features, 6 airbags, ADAS Level 2, electronic parking brake, all-wheel disc brakes, an Infinity Premium sound system with 16 speakers and Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera, and a spacious boot. In terms of the overall cabin feel, it looks inspired by a fighter jet and we don't have any doubt about that.
4. Powertrain Details
The Mahindra BE 6e will be offered in two power outputs: a 228 hp variant with a 59kWh battery and a 281 hp variant with a 79kWh battery. Both variants produce 380 Nm of torque and are rear-wheel drive. Mahindra claims a 0-100 kph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds for the higher-powered variant. The BE 6e offers three drive modes namely, Range, Everyday, and Race, with an additional Boost mode for extra performance. These specifications are identical to the XEV 9e, which is the coupe SUV that also made headlines on the launch day.

5. Pricing
The Mahindra BE 6e is priced at an introductory price of Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it's expected that the price may increase in the future. The XEV 9e has also been launched with a starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
Mahindra's latest electric offerings, the XUV 9e and BE 6e, mark a significant step forward for the brand in the sustainable mobility space. With impressive real-world range figures and a host of advanced features, these EVs have the potential to attract a wide range of buyers. However, the sweet price point might be able to work out well for the brand and prospective buyers would be attracted towards it relatively more.
