Prior to the launch of the Scorpio N, Mahindra had announced that the existing model will continue to sell alongside the newer model. In terms of features and dimensions, the Scorpio Classic is expected to be identical to the erstwhile sold Scorpio.

Even on the powertrain front, the Scorpio Classic is expected to be powered by the same 2.2 litre mHawk Diesel engine used on the Thar. The engine is known to make 130 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. Like the outgoing vehicle, the Scorpio Classic will come in RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) configuration only. There will be no automatic or petrol options on the classic as compared to the Scorpio N.
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic 2022 is likely to be available in two trim levels: S and S11. Customers will also most likely be able to pick between seven-seat and nine-seat layouts.
The model receives updates over the existing version in the form of a new grille with six chrome slats and the new Mahindra emblem, a redesigned front bumper with LED DRLs placed above the fog light cluster, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and a modified LED tail light configuration that is reminiscent of the older Scorpio models.

The Scorpio Classic has enjoyed a lot of popularity in tier 2-3 markets and Mahindra would not want to let others take benefit of the absence of Scorpio. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic at launch would go up mostly against the C Segment SUVs such as the Creta, Seltos, Harrier, etc.
