Mahindra is fast moving ahead with the updation in line with the RDE norms deadline that is fast approaching. In this course of action, the Mahindra XUV300 is now complying with the regulatory rulings.
Let us look at what changed in this transition.
Mahindra XUV300 New Update
With the recent modification to the engine of the XUV300, the engines are now RDE compliant. As a part of this mechanical overhaul, the price is also hiked. Under the hood, the XUV300 is available in two powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel unit. The former produces 109bhp and 200Nm of torque while the latter churns out 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an AMT as well. Courtesy of new regulatory directions, these engines have been updated to meet the new BS6 Phase 2 and RDE norms that are said to come into effect from 1 April 2023.

Price Hiked As Well
The price tag is also another element that receives an update. With the new engine update, the Indian carmaker has also hiked the prices of the XUV300. Starting with the petrol variants, the W4 and W6 with manual transmission remain unchanged and are priced at Rs 8.41 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh respectively. Then, the W6 petrol variant in the AMT guise is now priced at Rs 10.71 lakh, receiving a hike of Rs 20,000. That said, every other variant with a petrol engine has received a price hike of Rs 15,000.

VERDICT- The Mahindra XUV300 is now ready for the new RDE norms. The powertrain is overhauled but nothing else changes. The interiors, exterior, and features are the same as before. Recently, the XUV700 also made its presence in the powertrain with compliant RDE norms. And as expected, with a price hike too.
