Maruti Suzuki launched the black edition of its Arena and the Nexa lineup back in January 2023. Before this, no car from Maruti Suzuki was available in a black color tone. Now, the Maruti Celerio Black Edition has started reaching dealerships. More cars like the Alto, WagonR, and Ertiga are also coming in these Black tones for the customers.
Let's quickly check out the pictures and find out how it looks.
Maruti Celerio Black Edition
What would be important thing to know is that the Black Edition is only available in high-spec trims- ZXi and the Zxi+. This is the case with other Arena models as well. The midnight black paint job on the Maruti Celerio retails at no extra cost like some other manufacturers. The price of Celerio starts from Rs. 5.35 lakhs ex-showroom

It gets an all-black front with just a chrome strip and the brand logo in chrome. The side profile is completely blacked out, with a hint of red from the tail lamps. The alloys are completely black and complement the color theme. The rear houses sport the same design, the same taillamps with the brand logo in chrome as before
Everything Else Remains Untouched
Mechanically, the Celerio is powered by the same 1.0-liter K10C petrol engine producing 66bhp and 89Nm of torque. The engine also comes equipped with a CNG kit and in CNG mode it churns out 56bhp and 82.1Nm of torque. However, only the VXI variant gets the CNG option. For the transmission, it gets the option of a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit as well.
VERDICT- It is to be noted that the black edition only gets a cosmetic black paint job, and the engine, design, and features remain exactly as the existing line-up.
