The Maruti Ertiga was first launched in the year 2012 and was offered as the brand's first Life Utility Vehicle. The Good Things About The Car-
- Great versatility
- Can carry 5 with a big boot. Can carry 7 in decent comfort when needed
- The running cost is cheap. Still gives 15.5 kmpl in city driving and 18-19 kmpl on highways
- Big space on the inside. But relatively small footprint on the outside so easy to maneuver in tight spaces
- Nippy handling for a car of this size
Should Have Been Better -
- Typical Maruti rattles present inside the cabin
- Servicing cost at ASC isn't exactly cheap
- The rear is a little dull to look at

After using the Ertiga for the last six years, the owner reports that there have been no major issues with the car and it is extremely reliable and proven workhorse. The engine works fine, the clutch-gearbox combo is still easy to use and the plastics inside the cabin are holding really well for their age. The seats are comfortable and this car truly is a great companion for highway journies. The after-sales support has been great but is on the expensive side. A regular service costs somewhere around Rs 8-9 thousand at the Maruti's authorized service workshop while the same can be done outside at an independent garage under Rs 6 thousand. Apart from that, there have been no issues and the parts cost too is not very high which makes it extremely economical to keep this car for long years.
Overall, Archit reports that he is happy and satisfied with the ownership of the car. In addition to this, the Ertiga has been a full paisa vasool car for the family and anything next in the garage will have big shoes to fill!!!
