- The new colour shade is available in Ignis, Grand Vitara, Baleno, Ciaz & XL6
- Only select variants are available in new Pearl Midnight Black colour variant
Maruti Suzuki NEXA, has announced the launch of a new NEXA Black Edition range of vehicles in honour of Maruti Suzuki's 40 illustrious years in business. Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and Grand Vitara are the five NEXA vehicles that will now all be offered in the eye-catching new Pearl Midnight Black colour. The new colour will benefit prospective customers who were waiting for the NEXA lineup's black colour. The black colour edition will be available in select variants only. The price of the celebratory NEXA Black Edition lineup of vehicles is the same as that of the NEXA lineup in general.
NEXA Black Edition
The new Pearl Midnight Black colour will be available on the Zeta and Alpha Petrol versions of the Ignis, but not on the regular Sigma and Delta trims. The new paint colour will only be available on the Alpha and Alpha+ petrol models of the XL6 MPV. The Zeta, Alpha, Alpha AWD petrol trims, as well as the Zeta+ & Alpha+ trims of the Hybrid variant, will all be available in the new black colour for the Grand Vitara. Also, all the variants of Ciaz will be available in the new black colour. Further from the addition of the new Pearl Midnight Black colour, none of the vehicles have seen any other alterations.
Along with the new Black Edition, NEXA has also introduced Limited Edition Accessory packages that consumers can choose from to further personalise their vehicles. All NEXA automobiles can purchase the Limited Edition Accessory packages at a special discounted rate.
The 1.2-liter petrol engine that powers the Ignis continues to deliver a maximum torque of 113 Nm and 82 bhp. This engine is paired with both an AMT and a 5-speed manual transmission
The 1.5-liter petrol engine in the XL6 generates a maximum torque of 136.8 Nm and 102 bhp. A 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission are paired with this engine. It also has a CNG powertrain option, which in CNG mode generates 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque. It has a maximum output of 136 Nm and 99 bhp in petrol mode. Added to this engine is a 5-speed manual transmission.
A 1.5-liter strong hybrid and 1.5-liter mild hybrid powertrain are available for the Grand Vitara. The former has a three-cylinder engine and generates practical power and torque of 114 bhp and 122 Nm, respectively. The e-CVT system is connected to this engine. The second engine is a 1.5-liter mild hybrid found in the XL6 as well. It generates a maximum torque of 136.8 Nm and 102 bhp of power. While a 5-speed manual transmission is the default, a 6-speed torque converter is an option.
Verdict
With the new black colour the brand will be attract more customers towards the NEXA black edition vehicles. Many customers were awaiting for black coloured Maruti cars and the Grand Vitara & XL6 will look good in black colour owing to their size.
