Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Jimny Thunder Edition, a new variant of its off-road vehicle Jimny. With the debut of this edition, the company has significantly reduced the SUV's price by up to Rs 2 lakh. The Jimny Thunder Edition is now available for Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a more budget-friendly 4X4 SUV in the current market. Following its launch, the Jimny Thunder Edition is now becoming available at various dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition
The Thunder Edition introduces several exterior cosmetic enhancements, such as front bumper garnish, ORVM garnish, mountain decals on doors, and front fender garnish. Inside, this edition features tan leather detailing on the steering wheel, door handles, seats, and mountain decals on the door pads. Additionally, the Thunder Edition is equipped with side body cladding for added style.
The Thunder Edition doesn't introduce any additional features; it maintains the same set of features as other variants. Its feature lineup comprises a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, and various other amenities. In terms of safety, the Jimny comes standard with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), 6 airbags, and a reverse parking camera with sensors.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Engine
The Jimny retains its 1.5-liter, four-cylinder K-series petrol engine, delivering 103 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 134 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission for those who prefer manual control, or a 4-speed automatic transmission for a smooth and effortless cruising experience. The manual gearbox boasts an impressive fuel economy of 16.94 kmpl, while the automatic transmission is equally noteworthy with a claimed mileage of 16.39 kmpl.
Verdict
The recent reduction in price is likely to draw a significant number of buyers to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It now stands out as one of the most economical off-roaders in the Indian market, starting at Rs 10.74.
