Maruti Suzuki Faces 1.65 Lakh Pending Orders In September
In May, Maruti Suzuki saw a significant increase in pending orders, partly due to the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift, which led to over 40,000 new orders. This surge pushed the total order backlog to 2,25,531 units. Of these, 32.5% were for CNG models. Over the following month, the backlog decreased to 1.65 lakh units. However, CNG orders continued to be a major part of this backlog, making up 40% of the total.

It's a good sign that the backlog is slowly decreasing. However, with the upcoming launch of new models from Maruti Suzuki, especially the highly anticipated next-generation Dzire facelift, it's important for the company to act quickly. To avoid adding to the existing order backlog and extending wait times for both new and current models, Maruti Suzuki should work on clearing up the space. This way, they can better manage the demand and ensure a smoother transition when the new model arrives.
Verdict
Although the number has dropped significantly, the wait time will only shorten a little. This means customers will get their cars delivered sooner, reducing the long wait. However, the backlog of pending orders could still cause delays, making some customers wait longer than expected.
